As a follower of Jesus, we cannot be demon possessed.
But we can be demonized.
Demonized means to be influenced by demons.
A demon is a person with a will but without a body.
Some people think the devil doesn't attack because we have Jesus.
Yes, Jesus has ALL the power over all principalities & darkness.
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)
We must know the enemy will come during any opportune time...
13 Now when the devil had ended every [h]temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. (Luke 4:13)
How demons decide to come in?
When the temple (our body) is EMPTY. We must be filled with God's word & His truth.
You can be influenced when you can't fight against the enemy with "It Is Written".
43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” (Matthew 12:43-45)
Deliverance is the act of God rescuing us from evil.
Once we get delivered, it's our job to stay delivered.
People enter God's presence to get delivered, but they don't stay in it long enough to STAY delivered.
We are called to gird the loins of our mind.
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Peter 1:13)
Submit to God & resist the devil so he can flee.
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
Understand the weapon MAY BE FORMED... but against Jesus, it WILL NOT PROSPER!
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)
